Wellington LA Fitness Is Becoming Club Studio: What It Means, What’s Coming and Could More Palm Beach County Gyms Be Next?

Then There Are the Recovery and Wellness Amenities

Club Studio also pushes well beyond exercise.

Its clubs can include recovery and wellness areas with services and equipment that you would be more likely to associate with a wellness center or spa than a typical neighborhood gym.

Club Studio advertises amenities that may include recovery services, HydroMassage and other wellness offerings, although the company specifically notes that amenities vary by location and some recovery services cost extra.

That last part is important.

We don’t yet know which exact amenities Wellington will receive.

Fitness International has confirmed the Club Studio concept for the Wellington property, but a detailed Wellington amenity list has not yet been published.

So while existing Club Studios give us a very good idea of what the company could bring to Wellington, residents should not assume that every amenity shown at another Club Studio will automatically be included here.

Will Wellington Have Reformer Pilates?

This is one of the bigger questions for local fitness fans — and there is good reason to think Pilates will be a major part of the concept.

Reformer Pilates is one of Club Studio’s signature offerings.

Club Studio describes its Reform program as a low-impact, full-body workout focused on core strength, muscle tone and mobility.

At existing locations, Reform classes are held on dedicated Pilates reformers rather than using mats in a regular group fitness room.

That could make the Wellington location especially appealing to people who currently maintain both a gym membership and a separate Pilates membership.

Again, Club Studio has not yet released the Wellington-specific studio lineup, so Palm Beach Wired cannot confirm that Wellington’s final configuration will include every Club Studio format.

But Reformer Pilates is clearly a central part of the brand.

What About a Pool, Sauna, Spa or Basketball Court?

Those are also still-to-be-answered questions.

The current Wellington LA Fitness already offers a more traditional fitness-club experience, including group exercise programming and Kids Klub hours.

Club Studio locations can include significantly more elaborate amenities, but the company cautions that not every Club Studio has the exact same features.

Until plans for the Wellington buildout are released, we don’t know exactly which existing features will stay, which will be remodeled and which new amenities will be added.

That is likely to be one of the biggest things Wellington members will be watching as construction plans become clearer.

When Will Club Studio Wellington Open?

There is not an official Club Studio Wellington opening date yet.

That is an important distinction from the September 1 date.

September 1 is the scheduled closing date for LA Fitness — not a confirmed opening date for Club Studio.

As of August 12, 2026, Club Studio’s official location finder doesn’t list Wellington as open, in presale or even “coming soon.” Its only Florida locations currently shown are Miami Worldcenter and Coconut Grove.

That means anyone expecting to walk into a finished Club Studio immediately after LA Fitness closes should probably temper expectations.

The facility will have to transition from the existing LA Fitness configuration into the much more specialized Club Studio format.

For now, the safest timeline is simply: LA Fitness closes September 1; Club Studio will follow after the conversion is completed.

No official month or grand-opening date has been announced.

Once Wellington appears on Club Studio’s official location finder or its Presale VIP List, that should provide a much better indication that an opening is getting closer.

How Much Will Club Studio Cost?

This could be one of the biggest differences for current LA Fitness members.

Club Studio is a premium fitness concept and pricing at existing locations is substantially higher than a typical basic gym membership.

For example, Club Studio’s official online enrollment page currently lists the Miami Worldcenter standard membership at $199 per month, with no initiation or annual fee under the offer displayed at the time of publication.

That does not mean Wellington will cost $199.

Club Studio pricing can vary by location and promotion, and the company has not released Wellington membership rates.

Still, the Miami pricing gives residents an idea of how differently Club Studio is positioned compared with a traditional LA Fitness.

We also don’t yet know whether longtime Wellington LA Fitness members will receive a special presale offer, discounted conversion rate or other incentive to join the new club.

What Happens to Current Wellington LA Fitness Members?

According to the closure notice posted at the Wellington club, current members will gain access to other LA Fitness locations nationwide beginning September 1.

The closest options include other LA Fitness clubs in Palm Beach County.

But an LA Fitness membership should not automatically be assumed to become a Club Studio membership.

Club Studio operates with its own premium membership structure, and Fitness International has not yet announced how — or whether — existing Wellington members will be offered a transition into the new Club Studio.

That will be another important detail to watch.

Club Studio Is Already Growing in South Florida

Wellington will not be the first Club Studio in South Florida.

Fitness International officially opened Club Studio Miami Worldcenter in 2025, calling it the brand’s 15th location nationally. The company said at the time that additional Club Studio locations were planned in major U.S. markets.

A second South Florida Club Studio is now operating in Coconut Grove at 2750 SW 27th Terrace in Miami.

Wellington would bring the premium concept considerably farther north — and, importantly for Palm Beach County residents, into this market.

Could More Palm Beach County LA Fitness Locations Become Club Studio?

Wellington members aren’t the only Palm Beach County residents likely paying attention to the change.

LA Fitness still operates several clubs throughout the county, raising an obvious question: Could Wellington be the first of more local LA Fitness locations to eventually become Club Studio?

For now, there is no official indication that Fitness International plans to convert every — or even most — Palm Beach County LA Fitness locations.

But the company does have a sizable footprint here.

Boynton Beach Has Two LA Fitness Locations

Boynton Beach currently has two active LA Fitness clubs.

One is located at 2290 N. Congress Avenue, near the Boynton Beach Mall area. According to LA Fitness’ official website, that location continues to operate with group fitness, cycling, yoga, Aqua Fit and Kids Klub programming.

There is also an LA Fitness Signature Club at 6683 Boynton Beach Boulevard, west of Jog Road. That club remains active as well and offers amenities including Pilates by LA Fitness.

At this point, neither Boynton Beach location has been announced as a future Club Studio.

Delray Beach Still Has an LA Fitness on Federal Highway

Delray Beach residents also have an active LA Fitness at 1660 S. Federal Highway.

The club remains listed on LA Fitness’ official website and continues offering classes and other traditional LA Fitness amenities.

There has been no announced Club Studio conversion for the Delray Beach location as of August 12.

Boca Raton Is Already Seeing Changes

Boca Raton may be one of the more interesting markets to watch.

The longtime LA Fitness on Beracasa Way recently closed, while other Boca Raton-area LA Fitness clubs remain open.

One active location is at 20443 State Road 7 in West Boca, and another operates at 4950 Technology Way.

Neither active Boca Raton location currently appears on Club Studio’s official list of planned Florida clubs.

That means there is no evidence right now that either will become Club Studio — but with one Boca club already having closed and Wellington preparing for a major conversion, local members may understandably be watching for additional changes.

West Palm Beach and Palm Beach Gardens Remain Open

LA Fitness also continues to operate at 1925 N. Military Trail in West Palm Beach and 3176 Northlake Boulevard in the Palm Beach Gardens/Lake Park area.

Those locations remain listed as active LA Fitness clubs.

Again, there are no publicly announced plans to convert either property to Club Studio at this time.

So Is Wellington the Beginning of a Bigger Change?

Possibly — but it’s too early to say.

Fitness International has clearly demonstrated that it is willing to replace selected traditional LA Fitness properties with the newer Club Studio concept.

Club Studio was created in 2022 and has been expanding around the country as a higher-end alternative centered around boutique fitness, premium equipment and wellness amenities.

But the company has not announced a countywide conversion strategy for Palm Beach County.

As of August 12, Club Studio’s official location directory does not list Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach or Palm Beach Gardens as open or coming soon locations.

That makes Wellington particularly notable.

If the project moves forward as planned, it would bring Fitness International’s premium concept into western Palm Beach County while many of the company’s traditional LA Fitness clubs continue operating nearby.

For residents in Boynton Beach, Delray Beach and Boca Raton, the Wellington conversion may offer an early look at what Fitness International sees as the future of at least some of its gyms.

Whether that future eventually reaches their neighborhood remains to be seen.

Why Wellington Makes Sense

Wellington has become increasingly competitive when it comes to fitness and wellness.

Residents already have access to boutique concepts specializing in Pilates, personal training, group fitness and other workout styles, meaning many customers are comfortable paying for fitness experiences beyond a traditional gym membership.

Club Studio’s model is built around trying to bring many of those experiences into one membership and one building.

If the Wellington club receives the broader package of studios and amenities found at other Club Studio locations, this won’t simply be an updated LA Fitness.

It could be one of the most substantial new fitness and wellness clubs to enter the western Palm Beach County market in years.

What We Know — and What We’re Still Waiting For

As of August 12, here’s where things stand:

Confirmed: The Wellington LA Fitness at 10180 Forest Hill Boulevard is scheduled to close September 1.

Confirmed: Fitness International, the same company behind LA Fitness, plans to replace it with its premium Club Studio concept.

Expected from the Club Studio concept: Boutique fitness studios, specialized classes, strength and cardio equipment and wellness/recovery offerings.

Not yet confirmed for Wellington: The exact studio lineup, pool and spa amenities, recovery services, childcare, membership pricing, presale offers and the final opening date.

Also not confirmed: Any additional Club Studio conversions in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens or elsewhere in Palm Beach County.

Club Studio’s national expansion makes Wellington part of a much larger shift happening inside Fitness International — from some of its traditional LA Fitness locations toward a higher-end, all-in-one fitness and wellness model.

For longtime Wellington members, September 1 may feel like the end of an era.

But what’s coming next could be considerably bigger than a new sign on the building.
