Boca High Swatting: Teen Arrested

Jayden Bullard, 18, from Leesburg, Florida, allegedly staged a swatting call that triggered a lockdown at Boca Raton Community High School in late 2024.

Boca Raton, FL — Police have arrested an 18-year-old from Leesburg, Florida in connection with the December 2, 2024 swatting incident that forced Boca Raton Community High School into a Code Red lockdown and sent police racing to the campus.

How the Threat Unfolded

According to investigators, the suspect called in a false report of a bomb and a rifle on campus, triggering a multi-agency emergency response. Students and staff sheltered in place while local, county, and school police swept the school for hours. No weapons or explosives were found.

Digital Trail on Discord

Detectives say the teen used a stolen Google Voice number to mask his identity and was part of a Discord chat groupthat shared scripts and encouraged the hoax.
Evidence gathered from chat logs, phone data, and internet addresses linked the call to him. The investigation also connected the same caller to similar threats at multiple Miami-Dade schools on the same day.

Months of Investigation

The Palm Beach County School District Police, working with Boca Raton Police and other agencies, executed a search warrant in April 2025 at a home in Leesburg. Digital devices seized during that search provided the key proof that led to his arrest on September 20, 2025.
He is currently being held on a $101,000 bond as prosecutors determine final charges.

Serious Legal Consequences

Florida law treats false bomb or gun threats as a second-degree felony (Florida Statutes §790.163 and §790.164).
If convicted, the teen could face up to 15 years in prison, heavy fines, and restitution to cover the massive law-enforcement and school-security costs created by the hoax.

Why It Matters

Swatting incidents have become a growing danger nationwide. They create panic, disrupt education, and tie up police and emergency crews who could be responding to real emergencies.
Officials stress that every false call carries real consequences, both for public safety and for those who make them.
